Our Apartment in Saranda

We rent out one apartment in Saranda (Sarandë), in southern Albania, right at the start of the Albanian Riviera. It isn't a resort or a hotel — it's a flat in a normal residential building, in a lively local part of town, where you can walk down to the sea before breakfast and sit out on the balcony with a coffee in the evening.
For us the biggest advantage is simple: the location. From the apartment you're at the beach in a couple of minutes, shops and restaurants are right there, and the people around you are locals, not just other tourists.
Where it actually is
The apartment is on the first floor of a building in a lively, local part of Saranda — not the polished tourist strip, but where everyday Albanian life happens. It's a calmer alternative to the main promenade, yet everything you need is close by.
The beach is right behind the house
It's about a two-minute walk from the door to the beach. Saranda's beaches are mostly pebble, and the water is clear and clean — perfect for an early morning swim before the day crowds arrive.
Everything within reach
There's a small shop and kiosk right under the building for water, a beer or an ice cream. Restaurants sit next door and across the street, with a supermarket a short walk away. The neighbours and locals are genuinely friendly — Albanian hospitality is the real thing.
What you'll find inside
The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, Wi-Fi and air conditioning for the hot summer days. The balcony doesn't look out over the sea, but it's a nice spot for morning coffee or sitting out in the evening. There's parking by the house.
Who it suits
It's a good fit for couples, groups of friends, and families on a budget who want to experience the real Albania rather than an anonymous resort. If you like being part of the everyday life of a place, you'll feel at home here.
A great base for day trips
Saranda is an ideal starting point for the whole region. From here it's a short hop to Ksamil, to the ancient UNESCO site of Butrint, to the Blue Eye spring, and to the ferry to Corfu. From our apartment most of these can be done comfortably as a day out.
