Mango Beach in Saranda

Mango Beach in Saranda

Mango Beach is one of the best-known beach spots in Saranda, and if you're after a lively, social day by the sea, it's a good choice. It's an organised beach with a beach bar, rows of sunbeds and umbrellas, and music that runs easy during the day and builds into something livelier toward evening.

Let's be honest up front: this is not a quiet hidden cove. Mango is all about atmosphere, people and fun. If you want calm and solitude, we can point you to other spots nearby. But if you fancy an upbeat day with a cocktail in hand and music in the background, this is your place.

What Mango Beach is

Mango is a paid, organised beach with a bar and restaurant right by the water. You pay for a sunbed and umbrella, food and drinks are brought to your lounger, and shisha is usually on offer too. Toilets and showers are generally available.

The vibe in season

In high season it's busy and upbeat. By day you sunbathe and swim; toward evening the music gets louder and the place turns into an open-air beach club with a DJ. Expect a mix of international hits, house and Albanian beats, especially around sunset.

How to get there

Mango sits a short way south of the Saranda centre. You can walk along the coast, or take a taxi, which is cheap and quick in Saranda. The Ksamil buses also pass this way and drivers will drop you at Mango Beach.

From our apartment

Our apartment is in a lively, local part of Saranda, so you've got options: the beach right behind the house for a quiet morning swim, or a hop over to Mango when you want a more social day. You can do both without a car.

Practical tips

Sunbeds fill up fast in season, so come in the morning to grab a good spot. The beach is pebbly, so comfortable water sandals are worth packing. Bear in mind sunbed prices here tend to run a little higher than at nearby beaches.

When to go

For calmer swimming, come in the morning or early afternoon. To catch the real Mango atmosphere with music and crowds, late afternoon and early evening around sunset are best. Outside high season the whole place is noticeably quieter.
